My guess is that he put his dong into a moving GPU fan to see what happened. Never ends well, for genitals or fan blades.
From the way the thread is going it sounds like he has already tried to "rip the P" using the hardware extraction method
I'm just a clumsy get and have been all my life. Well I broke one of the fans in my GTX 480 Lightning. Sandpaper mate you can't beat it. For laughs though.. When I was a kid I used to get urges to do stupid things. Not stupid things like the classic lick a battery but really stupid things. I used to have this oscillating fan in my bedroom and took the guard off of it so I could experiment throwing things into it or just talking through it and sounding like a darlek. Any way, one day I had this urge to stick my tongue in it whilst it was going full pelt. It bled. A lot. I tend to avoid fans now.
You sound like a crazy guy... We don't see spare parts but if the card is still in warranty (3 years), you should be able to RMA.
I have no idea how old it is Rawz. It was donated to me by a forum member (Bindi). It's ****ed up really.. I lusted over it for nigh on three years and I finally own one and I've broken it I tell you what else I'm after too, just in case you have one lying around.. I want one of those Lightning Reactor things to mod onto the front of my case. I emailed support about a week ago but they're not responded....
Badtimes Chances are that warranty has finished. Have you tried getting the 1st owner to send you the invoice so you can try at a reseller? No reactors about sorry. Our latest Lighting 290X ditched them too.
Bindi lives in Taiwan hehe. Do me a favour Rawz. If you split open one of these new ones to put it under LN2 can you keep the cooler for me? The fans I ordered have fallen through and I desperately need some, any, that will go on the card.
Nope. None are the right size so would need modding. The 480 Lightning is the only card to use 90mm fans. I ordered some 80mm yellow fans but got a email from the seller in China saying they don't have them in stock. So yeah I could mod those but there's no point really given that Chinese fans are £1.50 each. Just sucks, now I don't have the money to order any more as these Chinese sellers have my cash. Maybe when it's refunded I'll order something else..
