Speakers and Tv for live 8

    Hi everyone. Watching live 8 now and want to liven up my expierience! Ive got logitech z 5500's and i wanna hook them up to the tv. the only way it seems to work is through the headphones jack and it sounds crap. cant turn it up much or it cracks. anyone got any other ideas on how i can maybe do something to hook them up a different way or somthing?

    The only way would be to go through a vcr. Just use the vcr to tune the channels, not the tv. Thats about the only way

    Does the TV have any RCA audio out plugs? If so and they just aren't working, try the TV's setup menu, you might have to turn them on.

    Ive got a digital cable box that I plug my 5.1s into. Its basically a big beefy tv tuner box from the cable company.

    Pretty much the way it works is if there is a box between your tv and the cable connection, you would plug into that. Thats why it works with a vcr.

    As for it crackling on the headset port, try changing the volume on not just the tv but the speakers also. Sometimes youll get better results turning your tv nearly all the way down and then using the volume control on the speakers, or even vice versa.
