    OOOOOOk

I bought another PSU but unfortunately it is a normal one, and didn't fit in the case :(

I put it upside down, so the PCB is not on the floor of the case.

I've made a 4-LED VU Meter, and I will connect it today,
and also a special fan monitoring led !!

the LED is connected to the third Fan pin, and it is blinking when the fan is on very low RPM.

I will update with pictures today, I must go to schoo now !

    Bye !

You there ! think the project is DONE ?!?!?!?! :naughty:
    Noooooo.... :nono: :nono: :nono:

I ordered the components for the VGA to RCA circuit. Actually it's based on a 'RGB to PAL/NTSCw chip. (VGA=RGB, RCA=PAL)
total cost is approx. 25Eur ...

I decided to publish the circuit here...

I will build it in France, when Ill visit my family there, arround the 29th of March...

For now, the unit is running 24H, running eMule; no crashes, no overheats, all is OKK !

the fan now is outside the case, and not in it because of the new PSU... the bigger one...
also the VU Meter is improved and looks better....

    will update soon,

    Thanks,
    Avner Richard

How Good is the picture on the LCD? Is STN really as bad as everyone says it is?

How is the picture in comparison to TFT?

It is a TFT one !....
the quality is not so good, because I connected it to the TV-out,
but as I said, I'm planning to build a good quality adapter

    Thanks

    Hi all !

I'm Flying to France to visit my family.... approx 2 weeks...

So of course, I'm taking this little toy with me, and I will also test it on a 4x4 LandRover with the 7.2" LCD

Here are some pics of all package, that will fly Wednesday, the 31th, at 05:30, From Tel-Aviv - Israel to Marseille - France.

It is without the HDD, youll see it later
    [IMG]

Some 56k Modems, boot disks and other un-important things :D
    [IMG]

    The 7.2" LCD packed
    [IMG]

and the HDD, I am taking it with me, because of its precious data.... :worried:
and not because something can happen to it... believe me - if you wrap it, and it doesn't move, it is OK. because it is not sensible to pressure, or under-pressure in the plane...

And this tiny thing - HOP ! into the suitcase !!

    UNFORTUNATELY -

I will have to say goodbye for two week to my big one... :waah: :waah:

Heh, tomorrow I'm going to convert more money :cooldude: :cooldude:

LM391x (There are several different versions for different numbers of LEDs)

All the anodes go to V+ with the proper resistor, all the cathodes go to the pins on the IC.

Avner, I like your case! What was it originally? Are you going to get some 7-segment LEDs and wire them so it blinks "12:00" on the front?

it was a 15 years old CD-Player, that started to do problems.... :baby:

what do you mean by "12:00" ?

note that you have to add a powerful 470 ohm resistor between the +12v to the common + of leds

Oh, i had thought it was a VCR.

VCRs that were set up incorrectly (99.9% of them) blink "12:00" because a time is not set on them. It would be funny to add, all you'd need is a few 7-segment LEDs and a led flasher circuit.
