I heard that... i hope mine does'nt involve that because im not great with getting to grips with different cars, my sisters peugeot is terrible everything feels in the wrong place my feet can barely squeeze into the footwell
I've also been on a speeding awareness course, there was no driving, but there was loooaaads of sanctimonious and condescending hot air.
Mine was about 8 years ago now... may have changed. The morning was the sanctimonious hot air... driving in the afternoon.
Lol's few weeks ago i was on my bike doing around 75 in a 40 and didn't see the police pointing their camera at me, thank god motorcycle's don't have number plates on the front.
Completed the Speed Awareness course today, and i have to say it was worth the time and money (i would have preferred it free!). Here is a quick summary of what happened for those who may stumble across the thread. Got there 8.40 after being told to arrive 15 minutes early for the session, was suprised to see i was one of the last 4 or 5 to arrive ages ranging from early 20s to late 80s i was one of the youngest of the 25. Started off quite light hearted a few jokes the two course leaders seemed to be quite cheerful, and simply took turns going round the room telling everybody your name and where you were caught speeding. To my suprise 10 of the 25 had been caught on the exact same camera at the exact same speed! it became a bit strange after the first three said about it, after that we came down to the excercises of finding "excuses" people give for speeding, this turned out to be alot of fun as there obviously was no excuse. We ended up with answers like "i was running from the police", "My accelerator got stuck", "Me no speak english" and mine being "My kebab was getting cold" all encouraged by the course leaders, similarly we done this with reasons benefits and drawbacks of speeding, all answers given just by people calling them out no putting you on the spot. Parts of the session broken up by tea and coffee breaks gave you chance to stretch your legs as the chairs were insanely uncomfortable, back to work and we went through some statistics group hazard excercises and more group discussion again allowing for the odd joke here and there usually iniated by course leaders again. It felt more like i had arranged to go on this course rather than being an alternative to points, being caught in the bracket i was meant i was with everyday people that just had a small mishap, one guy i was sitting by had never been caught speeding in 50 years of driving but agreed it was well worth coming to the course. I don't think one person did'nt take atleast one thing away with them even if it was simply a greater sense of responsibility as a driver. Overall i was satisfied with the whole thing £80 is a small price to pay to avoid the points and you actually feel like the money was well spent after it, just by doing it i feel a better driver and have since been more aware of my speed and overall space and timing when im driving. Apologys for any spelling and punctuation errors writing on the ipad before i go out
