I followed this guide as to how to chage the splash screens at the beggining and end of your windows usage . http://www.virtual-hideout.net/guides/windows_logo_mod/ I found however , that it just doesn't work !! Any ideas on how i could get this to work , becasue it is so cool
http://www.littlewhitedog.com/reviews_other_00027.asp for win2k Theres an xp one too but i forget where it is.
One point regarding the vh method, I produce the image at 640x480 or 800x600 then resize to 320x400, otherwise the image gets stretched when used. And check the final file sizes, (mine are 129,078 bytes or 129,147 bytes for logo.sys with a bar) and in the right directories.
Do I have to use Paint Shop Pro to do this ? I tried doing one in Adobe Photoshop , and It didn't work
Final size and color depth are important. I use PSP, but if Photoshop can do that, it should be ok. Don't forget to save (or rename) as a .sys file.
I have done it with paint and it came out pretty good. The only trick is making sure the size is correct and that you only use 8bit color. if you fail to do that then it will not display.
