Anyone looking forward to this game?
I'm a massive fan of the SC series, I've been buying (nice and cheaply) the games in the series; I've completed the first one and about to complete Pandora Tomorrow and should have the other two done by the beginning of September but it leaves me a month until Conviction (if it's on time) which is looooooong (like long cat)

It looks great, if you have an account at Ubi watch the videos, it's really made me as excited as a little boy at Christmas (resist urge to make MJ reference)

It looks a completely different game to the other 4, very dark and sinister and a lot more fast paced and fluid; it still has the elements of SC that make it my favourite series to date!

First one was fantastic, so was the third. I didnt really get into Pandora Tomorrow, it just wasnt that great, and double agent was just shockingly **** :/

I hope Ubi do right with conviction.

Yeah I agree, Pandora Tomorrow isn't as good as the first (which is my favourite by far) Chaos Theory was genius and you are right, Double Agent is the worst Splinter Cell (and definitely not a great overall game) but being a fan of the series I want to complete them to keep the story going.

Looking at gameplay videos of Conviction they look to have it right, the trailers just don't do it justice!

The final mission of the first game was epic! The shootouts took me so many attempts, which is what you like for a final mission, and the finale was great. I am at the very end of the penultimate mission of Pandora and then I need to scrape together a fiver for CT.

I still say the SC series is the best for me. You get so emmersed and really 'bond' with the characters and Fisher's dry sense of humour!

I *love* Fishers sense of humour :D And the whole character development/relationships are fantastic. I felt ****ed off about the cheap way they used his daughter though, they could have used her more without turning her into a Kim Bauer.

The soundtracks from the first and third games are also worth getting! Amin Tobin iirc.

I'll definitely have a look for them.

I partly agree about the way they "used" Sarah but she's the whole premise for Conviction pretty much. I'm starting to think, maybe hope, that the end of Conviction may reveal more about what happened to Sarah than meets the eye!

I think it will be weird in Conviction, not having Lambert and Grim in your ear the whole time!

On a side note, just started the last mission of PT, in LAX. I bloody hate the dogs in these games :| and because of that I think they're a genius addition!

Have they gotten rid of the daylight/crown dynamic from the videos a while back? It looked pretty interesting and a nice addition to the gameplay style. If they have or haven't, I hope Conviction will be better than the garbage that's called Double Agent.

Aye but Conviction is completely different, in a way they have changed the way the story is told, with quite an intuitive projection system, and sort of replaced Grim and Lambert. Again, it's just a different game!
    It's gonne be awesome!

I'm still waiting upon Chaos Theory to complete my collection and play through. It took me a week to complete the first two but now I have ages to wait :( That's what's gonna "suck arse"

I wasn't looking forward to it at all until I saw the gameplay video's. Very slick looking. Now I can't wait.

    Yeah, well...shut up, Bindi!

Granted, the control system and camera angles are consistently terrible and unworkable throughout, but then bad controls are to Splinter Cell what endless replays are to Hitman. They're the compromise you accept and make for the sake of awesome story and concept. Double Agent's environments and story are totally awesome, even if the gameplay fails to carry you through them comfortably. For me, it's worth it.

I really should buy chaos theory, though. I missed a trick there, apparently.

Hmmm, still can't get CT to work properly.
I think there are a lot of negatives to the Splinter Cell series but they are just great games!
You also mentioned Hitman, another one of my favourite game series (I will never ever watch the film though)

He has effing head stubble in the film, Agent 47 does NOT have head stubble!

I'm tempted to click buy on Hitman 1 and 2 on Play (£4.35 in total) although I have heard the first one is really difficult with the inability to save the game! Still, number two was great and it is a series I'd like to complete.
