So... anyone bought Splinter Cell Conviction?
    What do you think?
    I enjoyed it.

I was going to buy it, but when I saw/remembered Ubisofts retarted DRM, I backed away. My net connection is dodgy at the best of times, often just dropping it whenever it feels. Would take me close to a month a complete the first level probably! For that, I'm going to give it a miss.

Which just shows that it's the DRM stopping people from buying the game, which is the point I was trying to get across!

But like they say you can't educate pork............. :D

I really enjoyed it, but... Was it a bit to short? I felt it was, not sure why. I played through on realistic and finished it in 6 / half hours. (Story mode) Still have the deniable ops and online to play etc, I don't know I just felt as if it was a bit short. I also thought the ending was a bit poor to. It was quite obvious that his daughter was alive all along, but I really don't know what to think of it. I think the story mode in Pandora, Theory & Double Agent where a lot better structured and more engrossed game play. Dunno though, just my thoughts.

It was kinda short, and the cut scenes really dragged.

Game was good though, anyone bought the DLC yet?

I was really really interested in Conviction, I liked the new direction they were taking the series in. Then I heard there was going to be no Spies vs Mercs mode. Which is the thing that got me playing Double Agent more than anything.

Totally agree, said this earlier in the thread. I really miss the Spy vs Merc game play from Chaos Theory! :(

I totally miss taze'ing a helpless spy and popping him one in the head! :D

Ah, thanks, hadn't heard about that. I got the free Third Echelon Deniable Ops map in-game (key from Gamespot), and the Uplay DLC.

Hmm. £5... also my SC:Conviction wasn't bought through Steam, so will that work?

Got this on PC it has nothing on any of the others it is stupid short and easy, stealth is not as important as previous games and I found I miss the removed features of the other games.

Has anyone played the co-op campaign/missions?

Haven't played a Splinter Cell since the first game on the original XBox but am tempted by this (despite the draconian Ubisoft DRM) primarily for the co-op play.

Is it worth shelling out £18 from Amazon for the co-op?

I tried the co-op, but there aren't many other players on it.

Also, I only had 40 minutes to play, and it doesn't store progress through missions, or tell you which ones you've completed, as the singleplayer part of the trip does.

As BarryBear says, it's not a stealth game any more, it's an action game with decent stealth credentials. I am enjoying it though, having played every one in the series.

Like it.. but it keeps crashing my PC whatever setting I put it on :S Been years since anything did that. Whatever, everything else runs perfectly so I'm not gonna troubleshoot this *******. I can run Crisis and everything I've tried since just fine. Before I get comments about my PC being poo..save it. Ok?

Its quite fun but as many have said, the stealth isn't as prominent as it was in the earlier games but the pace is still fun and the game is well executed.

Just don't go into it expecting the extreme stealthy gameplay in previous titles.
