Hello, I know this may sound a bit funny but I have a friend who today received an email from a company who he sent a sponsorship request email too. It said that they needed to know his location. I suggested it may be just for records. Could someone help clarify why they are asking for this. I have had it also with two companies. That was today and Monday. Any help is great. Tell me if I have this wrong: - Your friend emails them asking for sponsorship - I'll assume of parts or materials for a PC project, but it could be for anything I suppose. - They email him back, asking for his location. Right? Ok, they probably asked for his location because they want to determine how viable it is to sponsor him. If he lives in the UK and they are a US based company with no distributors in the UK, it's pointless for them to sponsor him because it ends up costing them a lot of money to send items to him and they have no distributor in the same country as him for other people (who see their name/products through him being sponsored) to buy their products off. Of course the flip side of that coin is; they do want to sponsor him, they have got a distributor in the UK (or are UK based themselves?) and sponsoring him ends up being quite rewarding for the company. It's not that complicated... If they have already made a decision, are you sure they weren't asking for an address? Because they'll need that to send sponsored free items to.
No its cool. I questioned it because he wanted to know and had got no reply from the company for about 3 days so he asked me to ask you guys. Thanks for the answers... They were completely right. Thank You...
