I'm hardly the most technically minded here, But I would suggest looking at the Samsung EVO 840. I just replaced my HD with one, and I'm really pleased with it. Makes a big difference (and I went from an SSD to this new one)

Be aware though that the 840 evo has a bug that will slow it down over time as old data adds up .

You will need to download from the samsung website a tool to repair this issue .

    Amazon, actually. ;)

Fares is right: it needs a firmware upgrade to remove the bug. The software to fix it is easy to use and very effective.
