About 2 years ago I had an Alienware laptop that I cloned to an SSD. Within two days I got a message saying that the battery was no longer charging. I got a new battery and the problem was solved.

Last week I upgraded my wife's laptop to an SSD via cloning and guess what happened? It now says that the battery is no longer charging. Has anyone else seen this? I don't know if it's a fluke with installing an SSD or the process of cloning to an SSD?

Yup, I've seen this one a few times. Sometimes a completely unrelated program can have this effect, I would expect it is because you have cloned the drive which had the issue. Try reinstalling acpi compliant control method battery for a start. Obvious test would be to see how long the battery lasts for and go from there!
