your bios supports vista. probably only supports 32bit. try installing to a raw hard drive.

Hmm.. Is that even possible ??

Ok I tried Vista and 7.. both said not detected.. GRRRRR!!!

I'll just grab an Mech hard drive and install from there.. then ghost the whole system onto the SSD..

Ok, I will try that now. One moment. What's the ideal size of the installation for this 30GB SSD?

Actual size of SSD: 28624 MB so probably half or 3/4 of it right?

Ok, it seems that the dang thing isn't booting into disc now because it kept giving me disc read errors.. so I switched to a different one.. same issues.. What the fook is going on?! Do I have to get another disc to burn to flash drive??

Downloading a fresh version of Windows 7 Home Premium since Noiz gave me the key for it.

Ok, that's official.. This SSD just don't want to be used at all! Bindi said it was working for him so he must have done it right.. I followed all the advice here and well, I must have missed a step somewhere. I'll just have to buy an mechanical hard drive and install from there then try and ghost it on the SSD..

I think i've run into an error like this before - Disk shows up in Windows & Bios, but seems not to exist as far as Windows Setup is concerned; I wound up repartitioning it in the end using Gparted, Gparted screamed about a bunch of MBT errors on the drive, fixed them all, and it suddenly started working.

Not saying that Bindi somehow broke the MBT, but it's a possibility to test, just in case?

For reference; The drive worked fine in windows when it was plugged in, could be formatted and partitioned there and written to and from without a problem, just would not show up in Windows 7 setup until I'd gone through with Gparted.

I'd be surprised if you could get Windows, Vista at least, onto a 30GB drive.

I know when I was running Vista, my C partition surpassed 60GB during it's lifetime. Never remembered what it was with a fresh install.

This would seem to confirm my thinking. For Home Premium, it says 40GB with 15GB free. So maybe it just doesn't show drives with less than 40GB.

Oh so that's why it's not showing up.. Well at least I'll be getting a 64 GB SSD from TGS soon. I hope that one will show up when I install windows 7 (Noiz provided the key to me for free since he's not using it anymore)

I'm not sure about Vista, but that drive had Win 7 on it before no problem.

Narwen, It says minimum requirements for this.. I don't see anything that says only requires..

I agree with this.. I pm'd him when I received this SSD and discovered that it still has information on this. So He told me to wipe this clean and start new.
