Not sure what you mean by server down, 3D06 shouldn't access the internet before you do a run. Does it crash on startup or after you press go? Might need re-installing, might be that the data is corrupting somewhere along the way.
it runs, then when you submit, the web page comes up and shows the error...but i unistalled and reinstalled and it works now...got a 17800 something on first run...
Interesting, is your rig overclocked? I'd have thought it would have beaten my rig. I'm getting: 3D Mark - 21488 SM 2.0 - 9060 SM 3.0 - 9957 CPU - 5566 I'm guessing yours is more optimised where it counts in modern games.
i re-ran, scored a 19312...i havent oced yet...the gpu is oc'ed from msi, but i havent messed with it any further...still i would have thought a gtx 570 would out perform a couple of 9800's... my sm 2 score is low compared to urs @ 7342 sm 3 @ 10169 cpu @ 4633 re-ran 11 and got a p5426, so a tad better...installed fm approved drivers...
SM2 isn't that important these days, Overclocking your CPU will improve all your scores considerably. Still it goes to show how good g92 hardware can be, and partly explains Nvidia's re-branding spree. I guess this is to do with games not demanding much more from DX9 these days.
Yes overclocking makes a difference, but so does number of cores - drop a 980X into a benching rig, and 3Dmark06 scores hit the roof. I get near enough 30,000 in 06 with my system, and it's mostly because of the CPU having 8 threads.
thats wild... i guess what's kinda bothering me is similar systems in 3d mark 06 have significantly better sm 2 scores with similar clocks...i know that it's not always the best at telling what speeds ur card is running at, and apparently gets sli'd rigs as none sli, but still....oh well...anyone recommend a good oc utility for the 570's? can't seem to do much with afterburner...
i'll check that, thought i saw on bit-tech that riva can't adjust voltages... on a side note, i didn't realize how much a solid oc on the cpu would improve sm 2 scores cpu @ 3.813 (stock cooling...making me nervous) sm 2 - 9091 sm 3 12432 cpu - 5815 score - 23859 11 went to p5780

yeah, mines never been so big... but it's more about making sure this new gpu runs around what others have been running. i'm pretty comfortable with it now.
@ Bede, overclocking and benching isn't about epeen, its about unlocking performance. Epeen is when you flaunt hardware that you have but don't need or use, eg tri-SLI GTX580s. The very idea of that is ridiculous to me. @ trig, I run my benchies with the CPU at about 4.5 and the graphics performance continues to improve, which shows that there is still a bottleneck with system speed.
nice. my cpu temps were getting a tad worrisome...of course i am using stock cooling atm lol... i dropped it back to 3.4 ghz for now and seems to be running happily on stock volts at that speed with much better temps... just need to see if rivatuner can mod voltages and see what i can do with the gpu...
I overclock my cards. Then I start with a blast though 3dMark Vantage. Then I run Furmark for 10 mins to see if it falls over. Monitoring temps all the way. After that I just do what the card/s will be asked of; I play games. Perhaps not the most scientific way to go about it, but it works for me.
not a bad process my friend... i tell ya, furmark for a few minutes will tell you all you need to know about ur gpu temps...
Tell me about it. To look at it, it's nothing. A furry doughnut, not even that impressive of one really. But 10 mins of that and you will know where you stand.
