Hello , I want to use a Bulgin Vandal Momentary Opened Swtich with Stand Alone ATX PSU How i can do that ??? Thank you Geobest
You'll need a push to break not a push to make I think. To hardwire a PSU to turn on without a motherboard you have to route the green cable into one of the ground wires I think ... you should check as I haven't needed to do this for a while!! What I do know is the wire between the two wires in the ATX plug has to remain there or the power cuts out, so you'll probably need a non momentary push to break type button.
Hello again , I know to do with that way but i cannot find a Bulgin Vandal Switch ( Like Illuminated Vandal Resistant MPI002 ) not Momentary . Is there a ciruit to work with momentary switch ??? If anyone know anything please help Geobest
If you used a momentary switch for this you'd have to hold it in. The only other way I can think of - get an old motherboard, just leave in cpu and ram. You can use your momentary switch with that. Since it won't need to boot up it can be something really old that you don't need, long as it works. You might even get away with no cpu or ram. I think some motherboards will still try and power on even if they can't do anything.
Hello again and Thank you for your answers I have read that one but i cannot understand a lot . Any Help ??? Thanks Geobest
Just short the green wire to a black wire - easy. You can just hardwire them together inside the PSU. What is this for?
you could use just one quater of the fan controiller circuit that is on my website, and wire the output to a transistor between the green and black wire on your PSU. here is the schematic:
