That's nowhere near big enough for a Bengal. The Bengal is mahoosive! Javelin is possible, but I think it's the Carrack, with the number actually just referring to the image number rather than deck?

I think you're right too (having found this) just a naming convention misunderstanding.

Yeah, we know 100% its the Carrack, notepad the image and its there in readable text (with a ton of nonsense) but ive said on a couple of places, the phrasing makes no sense to say 'Lower level 4' you'd have upper, middle, lower maybe. but if you're going to give a number, whats wrong with simply 'level 4' theres no need to say 'lower level 4'.

Whats impressive is that the flight deck seats are on some sort of upper rail system. You'd get in, and then be moved closer to the window which looks like you'd have a full unobstructed 180 degree view both vertically and horizontally, rather than a panelled window with a somewhat restricted view. Only the Xi'an Scout comes close to having this much visibility, and for a big ship, this is impressive.

I believe it to be pic #4 of the Carrack's lower level. They just haven't released lower level pics #1-3 yet.

Not sure if thats intended to clarify it to me, cos my previous post didnt really say as much, i was just pointing out the phasing made no sense if there was 4 floors, when people elsewhere had been implying there must be 4 floors. Im surprised they've managed to get 2 levels in, unless upper & lower doesnt mean 2 floors, but 2 levels, the picture shows steps coming down to that floor, so the layout could simply be over 2 levels but not overlapping or over each other.

It is feasible to get 2 floors into the same dimensions as a constellation, it just means the exterior isnt as flamboyant and doesnt stick out from the main shape. Plenty of the ships internals fit into a space far smaller than the ships dimensions, the Starfarer is listed as 90m long, it has a good 10m sticking out of the rear for no good reason, and only 35m is the main body area (i think theres some space above the fuel tanks), and the main body of the constellation is less than half the ships height, so 2 floors seems plausible (assuming ship stats are correct, the length hasnt changed, that much we know).

So we're nearly at 80 members! :D Thats enough to crew a bengal (with NPC's of course) and still have a few of us to fly fighters :p Seeing as we're getting a bit larger now, has any thought gone into organisation of man power yet?

And my thanks for that one. ;)

I'm still sort of bumbling around the game for now. What is there to do thus far? A bit of racing, freeflight around an asteroid field. Any player interaction?

Currently you can dogfight, which will be tough in your Aurora against Hornets.
Capture the core is fun, I think that should be more fun to play modes where you have a few allies, or you can do so-op vanduul swarm.

Keep your eyes on this thread and on RSI over the weekend, should be some big things to see Friday and Saturday.

Unfortunately currently with star citizen, a lot happens ate big events like PAX then we have times of nothing much happening. It will either bite you and you will end up melting your Aurora due to the current pay to win, or endure and you should have tonnes of fun in the PU with all ships been available if you earn enough :)

Hmmm, any upgrades I can apply to my Aurora to make it more dogfight worthy?

You may have 2 Aurora's on your holo table in the hanger, you might be able to swap some weapons around, The version you flu in arena commander is the Aurora trainer.

The reason I say the Hornet is your biggest issue in dogfighting, the version you get for arena commander is the full spec millitary version with a turret on the top and gimbled weapons on the wings. So much fire-power than can be easily aimed at a single target.

Missiles will be your best way to kill, or using a joystick is better for none gimbled weapon ships. That been said, Chris said in the last video, the next version of arena commander should be a lot more balanced between different control devices. It should be a lot more fun apparently :)

We really should put together some time for some BitSec co-op play (unless it happens already and I've never seen it)

Edit - Oh, I would avoid voyager direct for buying weapons for now. It has been said that soon the guns will be sold in pairs rather than single as they are now.

We do need to organise regular flying evenings for BitSec - I've been holding out for the co-op ships a bit, and hoping they would release private forums as not all our members are on here either.

As to Bloody_Pete's question re: organisation, yes, I have done a lot of thinking and planning. However it's all stuck waiting for more features on the RSI site (forums, fleet roster etc) which is annoying as all the retards voted for a bloody starmap instead.

    Sneak Peak of the Herald.

Seems like they didnt do an Around the Verse, instead they just did what they always do on twitch after AtV (Reverse the Verse) which is live with viewers spamming questions.

I'll edit this post with other info brought up in the live stream, ASAP

They've just said of the 2 new ships, one of which has NEVER been on sold before, and will include LTI for the 10 days its on sale. The other has been sold before, no LTI as expected.
This doesnt include the Herald, so 3 ships in total.

There arent many ships which have never been sold before which we know about are could be hangar ready, and the only ones i can think of are the Mustang (budget LTI!!) and the Redeemer (the TNGS winner).

    Episode notes:

    Some info:
    • Starfarer and one of the other ships that'll be sold will be in SQ42.
    • Probably no variants for the Herald, but some of you'll fit this out in interesting ways for other tasks. The Herald will be super, super, super fast, but it'll be less maneuverable due to the asymetric design.
    • 60fps for future YouTube videos: James will take a look in to this. Check out the Cutlass 3D comercial if you can.
    • 3AM Pacific for the PAX Australia Livestream. Countdown timer will be up on RSI website later today.
    Arena Commander:
    • Armor system being worked on for v1.0
    • New Horizon map getting a design pass. It'll be changing due to fuel/boost changes in 13.2
    • Control schemes getting a revamp for 13.2.
    • 13.2 possible for Friday. BUT NO GUARANTEE! Big changes coming for joystick and gamepads.
    Ship development:
    • 325a development. 325a didn't live up to expectations so major changes will be coming for 13.2. For example, updated targeting system.
    • Auroras will demo new paint system.
    • Expect more variants coming soon
    • Avenger being worked on to get it ready for flight.
    • Two hangar ready ships will be announced at PAX.
    • Herald will be sold tomorrow.
    • Probably no Herald variants, has asymmetrical silhouette, very fast but difficult to maneuver
    PU update:
    • Work far along in where you'll be at Terra.
    • Mission board mockup ready
    • Drunk mechanic implemented. LOL!!!!

    SQ 42:
    • Shubin whiteboxing continues.
    • Alertness state added to the AI. Big thumbs up for MoonCollider guys for their quality work on the AI.
    • Multiple different being prototyped. Landing/takeoff, ship loadouts, cap ship systems, action seats, etc all being prototyped.

    Austin studio call:
    • Mark Skelton and Rob Irving on stream (no Wingman unfortunately)
    • Mining display being worked on in Austin, "very mining"
    • PU goal is to have no loading screens
    • Cutscene external shots (like in PU demo) will be minimized to avoid breaking immersion, nothing final
    • Terra will be PVP-free zone at first but still being debated
    • Economy can affect how hostile a planetside location/space station is; Landed ships are 100% safe (unless explicitly told)
    • Difficulty reaching framerate acceptable for Oculus Rift, work on optimization being done
    • Procedural generation isn't being used for creating planetside locations yet
    • Hazy thought: If a honeybee makes honey, what does a bumblebee make?
    • Ship cargo can be scanned in space by the Advocacy and at customs planetside
    • Exploration ground vehicles will need procedural planetside content, won't be drivable planetside (in cities I presume)
    • When will we be able to join a friend's hangar? SoonTM
    • Character creation much more flexible than initially planned, but no pants-on-head

Note: These are notes from Reddit, so its someone elses words not mine, i only caught the last 30min or so. It's being archived on twitch, and it'll be available on Youtube later also, in a couple of hours. IMO the information from the stream is good, but the actual streams arent typically worth watching, its poor audio, echoes, unscripted reading & answering questions from a chatlog.

Yeah, but if its the Mustang.... $30/40 LTIs (AMD Racer variant is $60, so wont be more than that, plus thats full game, AC pass, beta... $10 worth of package).

They have shown greybox work of the Redeemer about a month ago (4-5wks, i'll edit in a pic) but it seems hard to believe it'd be hangar ready, cos they had to redo a lot of it again unfortunately.

So apparently it was 10 days ago... :D

Im just digging through old threads for the Redeemer on Reddit, and theres quite a few in the past month which say 'Redeemer sold this month?' or something similar.
Whats interesting is that theres a few which say the same thing, that they (CIG) have said both the Redeemer and Mustang would be sold at the same time. They're questioning the sale of the Redeemer based on the Mustang work we've seen and questioning if that means we'll see the Redeemer based on earlier comments.

Ben only said 1 ship hasnt been on sale before when it was in concept, therefore it was decided to offer them with LTI.
Well, the Mustang definitely had a concept phase where they could have sold it (and the community voted not to sell concept ships - which CIG has spun as a vote just for the Mustang concept sale), whereas it could be argued that the Redeemer never had a concept phase for CIG to be able to sell it, because they didnt really have any real input/direction, any outsourced/freelanced work is still subject to CRs feedback and approval at various stages. CR only had comments he could make, likewise the community and other developers, CIG couldnt reject something and tell them to do X Y & Z, only give opinions, and vote them in or out.

Yet they're the only 2 ships i can think of which we've seen are far enough along to assume they might be hangar ready, and CIG have said they'd both be released at the same time, maybe it was meant more as around the same time?
