You need something fast in Vela to get across to Grim Hex. Takes forever

Easy way to get to it is spawn there. Flip a comm array to off, kill yourself, spawn at Hex.

Looks like I'll be spawning at Grim Hex this weekend then.

Got my rating down from 5 to 3. Kareah is a pain to reduce rating.

Only got the ball rolling due to a few rogue missiles from my Talli. Honest.

Try to remember my alt f4 trick :thumb:

I could not find Grim Hex for love nor money, so picked up an abandoned Sabre and shot up a couple of people at ICC. That is what 2.5 is going to be about, people deliberately griefing to get to grim hex.

    Awesome :D

I hope the Mk2 on the civilian Hornets are similar, they've toned down the boxyness without really changing the look. Much nicer, and hopefully if we're getting both (pretty sure they said so) then it'll be pretty cool, and i hope we see similar results with a few others like the 300s, because they too need a rework but they're not junkers. I'd imagine it'd be determined by whether or not the old/original ship is suitable to keep and occupy its original purpose. The Hornet Mk1 is simple, compared to the Conny Mk1, 2, & 3 which needed multiple adjustments to make it suitable, rather than being worked on for purely cosmetic reasons.

So i'm back on the SC bandwagon after a long break. Tried the current 2.4 build and I have to say I really like the 'point' interaction system for adding/removing/swapping stuff on ships. I also really like the Stores, it's very cool to be able to shop without having to go into a sub menu or inventory!
Also, the Reliant Kore - what a really nice little ship model they have there, really easy to navigate internally, unlike the Avenger which is still full of clipping issues. I understand the Kore will be flyable in 2.5, from the preview it looks like it flies really well for its intended role.
Also, the F7A one word: SEXY.

It's a bit unfortunate that the bugs are so bad this build, spawned ships either sunk too far into the pad and not accessible or just suddenly lifting up and drifting off are a common occurrence as is re-spawning with no visible character model, which is a bit of a problem as you also cant tell if you are still wearing your space suit! Itself which seems random. Alas the Alpha.

Lets also talk about the Warden... I know all the tech is not in place yet and ballistic weapons Rule as it currently stands but I still am finding that ship a huge disappointment and CIG are very quiet on that subject, despite a large amount of ire from the fans on the forums. Now whether you take issue with the visual differences from the original concept differing so much to the current model is down to the individual preferences (i'm in the not a fan of it's current look camp) but it currently feels like it is in an odd place role & performance wise. It's too slow for boom and zoom, to un-maneuverable for turn fighting and as the tech for multiple redundancy is not in place yet, it is no more survivable than any other ship. I do so much better and survive way longer in the Avenger, it really highlights the bad place the Warden is in. I know there is a long time between now and release and many ships will get updates bug fixes and balances passes but right now I really dislike that ship!

Which leads me onto a few options now the games con sale is nearly upon us (and the November Anniversary Sale if not), I'm thinking about melting the Warden, using the proceeds to get a Super Hornet, then using the left over store credits to upgrade either the Avenger or Reliant Kore to a Freelancer Dur.
There also a few other options on the table, like melting the warden, upgrading the Reliant to an Connie Andromeda and then upgrading the Avenger to a Standard F7C for example.
Or melting the Kore, upgrading the Avenger to a Standard Freelancer and leaving the Warden as is.
Can you guys think of a good reason not to make a change in that regard? None of the changes I mentioned would cost more than $0 to $10 depending on upgrade choices and I feel it would give me access to a wider amount of Roles.

    Schedule (and stream) here:- https://robertsspaceindustries.com/gamescom

Also hourly raffles when stream is running by posting !raffle in the www.twitch.tv/starcitizen chat

I installed the twitch app on my tablet so I can watch Friday morning's stream whilst heading to the airport (by train!) and waiting for my flight to the evening presentation. :D

ah cheers, never spotted that earlier. I was mainly looking for the regular comm schedule for what they had to say about the week and the timing from the booths, but that certainly helps.

Have fun while your there :D
Im triple-booked with birthdays, football & livestreams and while im trying to reschedule the first to lunchtime, it seems i dont hold that sort of power in the football world :wallbash:

♪♪ Its my party and i'll :waah: if i want to... you would :waah: too if you were missing an SC livestream ♪♪

Will be heading out to Gamescom and the SC event tomorrow. I'll be hanging out with my fellow 11th buddies - we'll be wearing t-shirts with our org logo on, so if you spot us, feel free to say hi!

What is the 11th's logo? (I see 4 orgs with 11th in their name on RSI)
EDIT: I'm guessing "Eleventh Hour", as that's the only one with more than 3 members.

I'll be wearing my avatar over on the left there

Is there a SC presentation happening at Gamescom, or is it just streamers on the latest build?

I find watching "personalities" play games about as entertaining as dangling my dinglies in a mincer.

The daily livestreams are intended to bring new players into the game by showing what can be done right now.

There IS a big 3hr presentation of new stuffs (and party), starting at 8pm UK time tonight.

Which reminds me, time to leave for the airport. I'll be there!

EDIT: This weeks RSI newsletter hit my inbox and it lists our very own PeteJ as one of the top 7 AC scorers!

Well done! Your clearly the man to talk to for setting up flight controls/weapons loads outs :)

So I melted the Warden, sitting on $250 of Store Credit now.

Took advantage of the Gamescon free fly code, that Sabre is something else! I love its speed and maneuverability and its forward facing convergence on the guns. I removed the gimbles on the cockpit mounts and put fixed weapons and then set the targeting to 'lead', making my focus on flying the ship and then taking the shots when I get lined up on a 'pass' and have been doing much better in combat as a result!

So now I'm torn between wanting a Super Hornet, which without having flown one seems to be a heavily armed turn fighter and the Sabre, which seems to be a bit of a boom and zoom fighter.

anyone who has both provide any advice please?
