I'm guessing they can hit $40M easily...
Couple more ships still to show up.

So they have their competition for a new gatling gun, leading to a new ship...

Well, I've got a concept - how good it is I know not - but if anyone on BT can make it work, then by all means run with it.

"The Multi-Particle Wave Cannon is a Gatling cannon which fires energy bolts from a miniaturized multi-particle accelerator ray. It fires a barrage of bosons at the target..."

Hmmm, accelerator... bosons... surely it should be a toroid of some description?

Concept is basic; toroidal accelerator remains stationary superconducting electro-magnets etcetera, outer toroid and seven ('cause I like'em with that many is all) barrels revolve - in the above, counter clockwise, the discharge should provide a degree of rotating force - I can't be bothered to work it out - the rest I guess pushing off the magnets on the inner ring. Obviously more bumps, nodules and generally technology looking stuff is needed - equally wires and cables, lots of'em; this is a human implementation of alien tech, it should have a boot-strapped look, a combination of the super-high alien tech, whatever existing human (for SC) tech, and the Heath Robinson cludge that makes'em work together...

The barrels are slightly more conceived; first bulge is a "straightener" basically another set of superconducting magnets to ensure the bosons/anti-protons/whatever are aligned and don't brush the inner housing to early with explosive results. The outer bulge is the expansion chamber where the fun stuff happens - hence the fin array - and a veritable shotgun blast of glowing-stuff™ spews forth. Middling short range, attenuating more rapidly in a dust/debris cloud or close to a solar storm.a

I lack the time/inclination to learn maya/cry-to-mamma-whatever/or-whatever. Anyone want's to play, then play.

Banu stats are a bit pimp for a transport vessel, pity it looks like a flying crucifix though (and £155).

The Xi'an is an interesting concept. Strikes me a the Apache of Star Citizen. Pop up from behind something and harass the target while staying out of the line of fire.
I don't expect it to be quick in a straight line though. Definately a hit-and-run ship.

The Banu looks amazing, but I can't spend another $250. Yet another ship to acquire in game I think!

Disappointed that even more Idris-Ps are going to be sold. Another 400 of them is going to mean a lot more flying around from day one, which is possibly going to unbalance things.

i'm curious to see how difficult it'll be to aquire ships in game. if there are more of those flying around, that means more to board, and in theory more to commandeer/hijack? Or is that not a thing in star citizen?

i installed the hangar module. couldn't work out how to use the holo screen thing but it was nice to see my ship, kinda wish i'd taken a look at the aurorora before i traded in, but i'm assuming i could always get another aurora in game once it's released.

I was wondering - what will happen when during game, fight for example I need to go away from pc, press esc to pause the game as I would normally do.
What would happen? How can we pause the game?
I read somewhere that during long flights we can put our character to sleep and that would be a pause - then we can turn the game off and go back to it where we went to sleep.
    Is that correct?

It certainly is a thing in SC, but robbing ships will make your in-game standing drop like a stone - you're basically a pirate. However, I expect the vast majority of ships to be buyable from shipyards.

Hibernation exists for long flights, but if you need to leave your PC during a dogfight you're going to die. You absolutely need to get your ship to a safe place, or in to hibernation before logging out.

Only way of safely PAUSING would be to dock at a planet or station, otherwise you could just pray and hope someone doesn't blast/raid you in space.

For QUITING/LOGGING OFF there are the usual methods:
Logging off at a station/planet or from the $14 Million Goal:
Hibernation Mode: for the explorers out there, we will add the ability to save and resume while you are out in space. When not in combat, power your ship down, hit the bunk, and exit the game safely until you can resume your journey.

Same as any online game, Log of safely or come back dead. Your not gonna be able to pause the main game of SC during battles.

The single player game they are making will likely have a pause function.

If you can buy these ships in ship yards then alot of people will go emo can guarentee it. Hell they went emo when they saw the lead dev with a ps4 dev kit the other day.

I expect you can buy all ships from shipyard just under different names / looks so that they are not identical to backers ships. Guessing like EVE ship insurance is not permanent so pirates could have fun after a few weeks.

Will probably make 2 characters 1 pure pirate 1 good. Pure pirate just sounds so much fun and the fact you can fly an army harrier style hornet just makes it even more fun.

rollo, I don't think you'll be able to walk in to a shipyard and buy the exact ship from a pledge, but you'll be able to purchase the basic spaceframe with the entry level weapons. From that point you can then purchase upgrades however you feel - even to the point of duplicating the pledge ships. For example, they've already said that the Idris-P can be upgraded to the Idris-M through the purchase of an after-market upgrade kit in game.

LTI is permanent, but only for ships purchased by today. However, if you're losing your ship regularly you'll get bumped down the priority queue and have to wait.

Depends if all the pledge ships come with top end weapons ( have my douts on this ) Most likely you will get the equivelent of tech 2 weapons which is a step above basic. Giving you things to upgrade as the time goes on.

Also depends on how people will go about aquiring weapons and technology if its all brought from planets with no user control then all that is delaying you is credits. If its user made and requires some form of manufacturing with time elements the demand for top end equipement could be a huge money spinner for some.

You could have weapons and equipment that costs more than the ship itself. happens alot in EVE.

I have not brought any pledge ships as of today.

Yep! I was watching live stream where Chris said he need to write letter from chairman for 32M, then few hours after they hit 33M!
I had two letters from chairman to read this morning and even didn't have a chance to vote for previous stretch goal:)

I reckon it leans back. That would make sense seeing as the ladder is the roof of that tunnel.
