That's the main site, but https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge is the store. After that it's down to how much you are willing to spend. The pretty Avenger, above, is a $75 package that also gives things like Beta & Alpha access.

 

Few questions and we'll have you sorted.

What is your budget (cheapest Pack with the full game and basic ship is $30, but that doesn't get you alpha/beta access - for that its $35)?

What type of role do you want? (Bounty Hunter, Trader, Dogfighter, Explorer etc etc)?

Remember though, whatever you buy is to support the development of the game, and ALL ships will be buyable in game with credits earned through playing.

 

I'd like Beta access and a decent ship. I always play the good natured bounty hunter/mercenary in these types of games. Budget, well, I'd aim for $70 but could be pushed to $100 if there's any tempting options.

And of course I'll join Bit Sec!

 

If you're looking at the $70-100 mark then I would recommend:
- Avenger ($75)
- 325a ($80)

The Avenger is an ex-police ship, used for patrols and bounty hunting. Looks beautiful, decently armed and has a cargo bay that can fit stuff.

The 325a is one of the 300i series variants, designed as a fighter. There's an exploration (315p) and racer (350r) model as well, but the 350r isn't available for purchase any more.


Personally, I'd get the Avenger. Larger cargo bay and the precision central mount gun are plusses, but the 325a is going to be a bit more manoeuvrable.

 

Kind of went a little overboard. I now have an Avenger and a 325a. Installing the hangar module now.

Also, how much have you spent on this game Cei?! You're a one man fleet!

Nope! Married. Wife has an Avenger and a 300i.

I'm a student! Admittedly a graduate one.

 

I've put some screenshots of my two new ships in the screenshot thread for those interested.

I love the attention to detail - the ladder that comes down, the hydraulic pistons to open a cockpit, the monitors that flick out when the pilot sits down.

Performance is a bit juddery though. I'll put that down to no SLI profile and/or no optimisation. Not a complaint - I expected it!

 

I'll add you two to the fleet tomoz morning (on mobile atm) - can anyone else that's added additional ships etc please PM me and I'll update the front page.

 

That Avenger looks so awesome can't wait too see the update in my hanger...So excited now

Got an Aurora to upgrade to it the other day

 

Parge: i swapped out my aurorora for the 325a the other day.

Still resisting the urge to spend more, we'll see how well i do in dogfighting first though (if i'm terrible, anyone want to buy a 325a, or trade a non-combat oriented ship for one?).

 

Yeah, bar the Mustang upgrade I'm done on ships.
