Full multi-monitor will be in the final launch, but there are no more details than that. There is also going to be a companion tablet app of some kind as well.

    Bit Sec needs YOU! :thumb:

Bit-Sec - the Bit Tech Star Citizen fleet need a logo designed and we need your help to do it.

What's in it for me you ask?

Well, if you are already part of the Bit Sec fleet, you'll have a choice of an awesome Star Citizen Goliath mousemat to give away, or an laydee attracting Star Citizen T Shirt (size: L)

(both pics are not of the actual items, and logos etc may differ)

If you aren't already part of the Bit Sec fleet and do not own Star Citizen, your prize will be a digital copy of Star Citizen including your very own Robert Space Industries Aurora MR! (and of course lifetime membership to Bit Sec!)

What we need is a main logo, that can easily be converted into a banner and a square shape. Size wise, it needs to be scalable, so probably best starting big so it can be easily reduced to the correct resolution (if you wouldn't mind helping with this in future that would be very helpful indeed).

It can take any form you like, but it might be worth taking inspiration from the fact we are Bit Sec, from Bit Tech, and its an awesome looking futuristic space game.

The competition will run until Saturday 18th of January, at which point Cei, DLDeadbolt and I will pick one design each and the rest of the Bit Sec fleet members will have the opportunity to cast the final vote!

    Any questions?

Oh my, having $5000 to spend on a game is a thing of dreams at the moment, I left the insurance sector last year so I'm living a much more humble life and just scraping by at the moment, the reason I asked was if it was available for sensible sums, like <= 10% of that figure then I might have stretched a little for it...

    Constellation for me then!

I suppose the next quandary is, X65F or Warthog... I can see already this game is going to be my new money-sink :(

Quick question, im super hyped for this but refuse to buy into it till its at least in Beta stage.

Will i be able to buy into the game at a low price without a ship? So maybe be a crew member on a friends Constellation or Freelancer... Then after saving ingame money that way to buy my own ship?

I know you can serve in the military, so basicly be leased a fighter to do given objectives and get a wage to get your own ship with.

No, everyone entering the Star Citizen persistent universe will come in with a ship (not confirmed which).

At the moment, you can buy the basic game with an Aurora MR (but no alpha or beta access) for $30 - that is likely to be the cheapest way you'll ever be able to get the game.

I'm thinking about a Black Mamba Lite (don't laugh - who names these things!), it looks to have what few if any of the other sticks have - metal gubbins - no throttle as yet, though it's coming I may make my own three axis throttle...

    edit
And the cheapest way to get beta access is the Aurora MR+ at $40

Determined to eventually get into this.

Role wise I am partial to a bit of Mining / Merchanting but I dont have a clue what would make a good ship for that, any recommendations would be mighty helpful.

Plus I would love to join up with you guys as well :)

There is a mining specific ship, but you can't currently buy it (it'll be earnable in game with credits though).

Merchanting though, the Freelancer sounds like it is the ship for you. It can carry a decent amount of cargo for its size and they've just updated it with a new improved front end, so visibility is great.

The Freelancer is the current ship listed for a Merchantman vessel.
When all the modules are released, you should be able to turn the Constellation into a slightly different one if you wanted a bit more firepower for defensive purposes.

As said, the Mining ship isn't on the purchase list but there are job specific ships planned.

At the moment you could go with a basic Aurora to get your foot in and then either add other ships later on, or convert the Aurora into credit later which can be used when purchasing another ship.

When you convert a ship back into credit, do you get the full amount back or is a certain percentage of what you originally paid? if its the full amount I will start of with a cheaper vessel then keep stepping up till I have what i want

Nope, the full amount. You could buy the basica Aurora pack for $40 today, which gets you Alpha and Beta access too, then step up further down the line.

It might also be worth noting that if you only get enough to go for a basic starter ship, there's also a variety of ships with multiple seats so you'll also be able to be a crew member or gunner for someone else who's flying a bigger ship.

Reckon I'm in on this one too, probably drop enough in after payday for a Freelancer+ package as it's more my style than a fighter. A Gladiator and/or Retaliator will be long term goals though.

Time to get saving for system upgrades and a bigger monitor or few!

Oh and dust off the X52 Pro :D
