Very happy to see the new movie only 6 months away. Loved the first one. Always been a Star Trek fan, but the originals have always been too "clean". Though DS9 and Enterprise strayed away from this, thankfully. The poster seems to suggest that (#@!* is going to hit the fan for Earth next, after Vulcan. Can't wait. Wonder if this'll be the start of the Federation <-> Klingon war.
Looks like linoleum to me. In any case it's still as atrocious as before --a starship bridge cobbled together by a four-year old. The Motion Picture Enterprise bridge looked beautiful, functional, real. The TNG bridge looked like a clean, logical progression of that. This is Fischer Price crap. Pity, because the concept sketches looked much better.
Lack of Romulans / Klingons Figured JJ could go to town with the early-era Star Trek Klingons as really bad ass warriors who just kill and whatnot
New one was pretty much a special effects show, Great if you like that kinda thing but not alot of story behind it. The great Tv eps of the late 80s early 90s where all telling a story and thats what the films have always lacked. First contact was the last decent trek film.
Subtitled Japanese version of trailer (10s longer & in 720p/1080p - previous trailer posted is 360p max resolution)
Looks a LOT like a remake of Khan, with a few extra bits. Or at least, this teaser trying really hard to look like that. So, as its JJ Abrams, I don't actually have a clue what its gonna be like. Except LENS FLARE.
Sooo... Let's recap: Star Trek (Rebooted): Bad guy blames the good guys for the natural destruction of his world and the death of his wife, and goes on a epically mass-destructive revenge spree. Star Trek: Into Darkness (Wrath of Khan Rebooted): Bad guy blames the good guys for the natural destruction of his world and the death of his wife, and goes on a epically mass-destructive revenge spree. I know that you cannot expect a lot of originality in a reboot, but still...
I dont think its Khan, that would be too obvious. I think its Grant Mitchell. Due to the fact Alice Eve is in the movie as that lady doctor from TOS
FTFY For those that don't know - Spoiler Shinzon/Nero has scary ubership called the Scimitar/Narada with the previously unknown/unheard of Thalaron/Red Matter doomsday weapon. Picard and Data meet younger/alternate versions of themselves [Sinzon and B-4] in Nemesis, Spock meets Spock in Star Trek.
Erm, hate to be picky but isn't it Gary Mitchell? I like the look of the new trailer and as for the Japanese trailer and the extra footage - its what, about 2 seconds more? Still, I think this looks epic, I don't reckon Khan is the bad guy, I know its a reboot but the Eugenic wars bred supermen, not gods. From the trailer it looks like BC has some form of superpowers so my money is on Gary Mitchell being the villan.
