Is it just me, or is stargate actually getting BETTER at the moment ? Maybe its that i know all the characters well and much smaller, more subtle things make much more sense now, but im really getting into series 8, despite a lack of RDA. If anybody hasnt seen threads yet btw - its e.x.c.e.l.l.e.n.t - and puts quite a few storylines to bed, which deserve to be at long last edit: oh, and what do you guys all think to atlantis now its first season is nigh on over ? i think they have done a great job of it, and im certainly happy there delving into the knowledge of the ancients a bit more. Theres still a few things I dont like (the lightness of it (sg1 has always been sort of green and dark!) and some of the stupid things them folk they picked up in s1e1 say!). Apart from that though
A few of the episodes this series have been slightly disappointing, but generally the standard of quality is still going strong. I was a little skeptical when I saw the one with the barber (Joe?), but Reckoning parts 1 and 2 have more than made up for it. I take it Daniel died again? Psh! He'll be back. Again.
no way! Joe Citizen was gold! even if i t was one of them "recall lots of previous episodes and stick ina bit of an extra story" sort of episode, they did it well - what with them taking the piss out of the stories... "but... the new ones arent as good as the old ones" "well, which have you read?" "the light, seth..." haw haw haw i admit it started off slow, but it definatele picked up esp. when we find out jack has been having visions of a barbers life for the past 8 years edit: Daniel Jackson Die ? DAMN IT!! The season isn't over in the States!! :\ Last week's ep was It's Good to be King with the return of Harry Maybourne. This week (Tomarrow night) is Full Alert. I do have to agree with the 1st post that it's only getting better with age - It actually seems that the show is getting "smarter". I for one will continue to watch SG-1 every Friday night with glee As for Atlantis, I think that i has a better start than SG-1 did. In my opinion, it's not quite to the same level as SG-1, but I see serious promise and think that SciFi will run with it. Now, that all being said, one thing about Battlestar Galactica. With only the first 5 episodes of the first season being aired in the United States, I strongly believe that this series will not only be able to surpass SG-1, but will seriously rival the entire Trek universe - and I say this as a die-hard Trekkie..
havent seen ANY battlestar except the 3 part mini series as for the daniel dying thing, he just lives in hope! i shouldnt worry about what him saying spoiling any of your viewing pleasure for the future that us UKers have currently seen! edit: and its good to be king is a class episode

Yep last episode of Galatica was cobols gleaming 2 which was shown on sky one last week sometime, can't wait for season 2 SG1 seems to be getting better and better and yep SG Atlantis is cracking, just finished watching the season finale, what a cliff hanger
IMHO - it's you the only decent one i can remember recently is the one with joe the barber (mainly 'cos joe is aka Homer Simpson...) BSG, on the other hand - v cool
never, stargate 4 lyfe!!11111111111 threads was fantastic it was so awesome they had to make it 15mins longer to fit in all the awesomeness series 9 is going to be really interesting tho with Ben Browder joining i think atlantis is pretty damn good, especially as spin-off series' are usually utter shite (look at Babylon 5: Crusade, god awful series )
I have my tivo set to record SG1, Atlantis, and BSG, I have now cropped it down to just SG1. I agree that SG1 is strongest this season, the characters are finaly expanding out of their initial roles. I will watch Atlantis and BSG probably next year or so, after some developement will go on. I will watch the re-runs in-between seasons. Although I never did get back to watching Enterprise.
Wasn't he John Crichton in Farscape? They had Claudia Black on a few weeks ago (Prometheus Unbound) - wonder when D'Argo and Chiana will be on
Claudia Black will be a recurring character in Season 9 too... I cannot wait to see her again. She was a fantastic character and the chemistry between her and Daniel was brilliant!
Got to agree this has been the best season so far, just keeps getting better. And like Zap I fell away from Enterprise..
Yeah, very very funny. Especially them fighting. "You hit me." "You hit ME!" I didn't actually realise she was in both Pitch Black and Queen Of The Damned till after seeing her as Vala. Didn't recognise her!
enetrprise has been doing the same, yet people stop watching and now its dead on the happy side, sg1 is still going and, i guess some of you havent seen reckoning yet, and ic ould tell you it guest stars.... ISAAC HAYES! Oh yeah, and hes smooth as anything Dad - i cant get stuff off the net at university, i consider myself lucky when i get onto MSN
Yeah this show has dropped so many bombs (well for sg1 fans I guess) in the past couple eps (reckoning, threads, etc) that I am hooked. Can't wait for next one!
Jackson hasn't die yet, that I have seen. But there is one things that worries me. If you watch the ads for "Sci-fi Friday" they show the whole crew of Atlantis, all of the BSG guys, but on the SG1 ad there is no Daniel Jackson in the Ad. My wife things that they will some how send him to atlantis to shift more fans to that show. (Same way StarTrek DS9 moved characters around)
Michael Shanks has a signed another years contract for SG1, Not atlantis. The certainly wont move him what with a new main char coming in, RDA possibly leaving, and amanda tapping having a a baby for the first 5 episodes of season 9. They need as many familiar faces as possible! edit: The reason you many not see daniel jackon in any ads, if its for the last 2 episodes of SG1, may be revealed to you in the last few episodes of atlantis. Its no hard proof, but my suspicion is we will see a little crossover of him in the early season, and not much of him in the end of this season.
Stargate loved everything about it since the film ... Love SG-1 Even more its like a religion to me and its defo got better over the years the last few seasons Stargate atlantis same agen as the season went on I think it got better and the cliff hanger at the end - i just cant wait for the new season Long live Stargate
