I have an idea for a startrek case but apart from borg cubes what other startrek theme cases are there?
Just pick a race and use there architecture. I like cardasian styles like in DS9. Its all pretty organic.
theres a few Klingon case I have seen, borgs are quite popular do you want to make it in the actual shape of a starship of just like a part that you might find in there ship? not very pratical but you could make one shaped like voyager and place the motherboard and slotloading optical drive in the disk at the top. If you want some inspiration on what possible look through the project logs here or www.mini-itx.com which has some crazy ones like the waffle iron mod
Ive got two idea's ATm USS Defiant (got deck plans from an old book or a Kligon bird of pray but i just wanted to see if there were more then borg cubes for cases and google not giving me any hits.
quite hard to get any detail on the hull sounds like a difficult mod do you have access to a vacuum forming machine??? you could make the mould vacuum form it and the cover it in fibre glass for strength
I'm working on an Enterprise NX-01 mod here. More updates this weekend, almost done... NOTE: you might want to fix the title of this thread (typo).
Mate Garry of mine is building the original enterprise and is planning to stick a pc into it. Complet with all the lights for the engine and a stand with a little TV as a plaque displaying the star trek logo but then rolls over to play video and what have you.
I finished my Star Trek mod (Enterprise NX-01 themed case) this weeked (see post above). I still need to take some real pictures of the case (probably will have to wait for next weekend). Not to thread-jack, put this thread could use a little color...
No offense to jediknight0, but nacelles sticking out of the top of the case is not exactly what I call cool. You're better off theming your case after the architecture seen in a particular series. Think of it this way: If you do a TNG theme, it should look like a prop that would fit well with other props on a set.
This is what i was thinking The rear section would be detachable to hide the conections but of corse im far from even looking at starting this.
get a commell lv-676 or lv-677 can't remember which but one of them supports desktop cores so you can put a quad core in that puppy
little boring lol won't be that quick if you wanted to make it really small then you could use a pico-itx motherboard and then 2x2.5" hdd drives onboard layed outwards through the wings and maybe an internal wireless so that you can store all your files on a home file server extremely easy just cram as many hdd's into an old case as possible and you won't have an issue
