ATM, if I add anything to the startup folder it will startup twice. (which breaks certain apps, like Girder and my webcam)

It happens both when I add shortcuts manually, and when the programs insert them.

I've tried creating the files in both /<MyUserName>/Programs/Startup and /All Users/...artup/.
(I wish I could run windows as a PERSONAL Computer. )

It's driving me nuts and I can't see what else to try.

    Any ideas most welcome...

It's possible the registry entries for both the All Users and Your Account are pointing to the same folder.

    This might help.

    Maybe try running regclean?

Or create a new profile for yourself?

    thanks guys.
it seems that I have the same problem as mentioned in the link from arthur2sheds, and I think I will first try creating a new profile.

edit: actually, I just made the edits in the registry and it appears to have worked. I just can't figure out how it got messed up in the first place...

actually that only appeared to work once, but exporting from my laptop registry did it.
