anyone know how much current the VIA MACs can source?

I've solder some wires onto the bottom of my EPIA VE5000, for the link + acitivity light of the NIC (i don't want to have to tap the magnetics).

now from memory the RTL3189 can sink plenty of current, so the high(ish) impedence of the PIC's comparitor module (10k) should be okay as well as the LED + resistor.

But the EPIA platform been insainly low power, little heat disapation, might not. Any ideas?

No idea, but most indicator leds are plenty bright on 2mA. ;)

yeh it appears to work, the PIC's comparitor has a internal 10k pull down, i can't notice any dim-ness.

Its just when the whole CPU + RAM + GFX + NETWORK + VIDEO CAPTURE uses < 25w you can never be sure.

I'll post a bit later with why i've done this.
