could anyone tell me if there is a stealth browsing option in internet explorer 7 as when i connect to sites like expedia, windows update, etc i am told my browser is unsupported. the problem was caused by me selecting a stealth browser option some time ago but i now cant find it to deselect it and after searching windows help and support and looking through internet options ive hit a brick wall any help would be greatly appreciated.
You mean something lie changing your user agent? IE doesn't support doing that but Firefox supports it via an extensiona nd Opera does it natively. I'm sure there's a way around it in IE though.
Setting IE7 security to the maximum can give no end of problems, including difficulty in getting MS' own updates, even if you add MS to the 'trusted sites' list. But 'unsupported browser' isn't one I've come across. But there's a button to reset everything to defaults, under 'Advanced'.
