I agree with loopy...when was the last time you used your floppy drive? I would install it to set your system up...some drivers still come on floppy...then take it out and put it in a drawer or something in case you want to flash your BIOS later. If you don't want to see the floppy drive at all just take it out :)

even better...to keep it closed use something like you find on an entertainment center for the glass. you push it and it pops open, then you push it back on and it closes. you know, like the magnetic thing?

i think when i build my new box, im gonna mount the floppy on the inside in one of the hdd racks, just backwards ... so if i gotta flash a bios or run a lowlevel, i just pop the door off. i want the 3 3.5's in the pc71 im gonna get to be free for a 5" lcd ...

    Mount it round the back.

with a bit of fiddling you should be able to mount it to blanking place and mount it in the bottom slot, if you get what I mean.

mod your case to put the floppy somewhere else, like at the back / side.. then leave the bay clear...

or in the top, that would be cool!
