Windows Steam 2.0 and Counter-Strike 1.6 Follow-up

    This is an explaination to what is going on with steam and the CS 1.6 beta test... its basically suspended now, those who didn't get to download the beta thru steam will have to wait for the full version to be released.

    :D tis a very good update, the sheild owns! i posted my pic of me going 24-3 with a sheild/USP combo:rock:. and the sheild does not make you invincible. Your actually pretty vuneralbe with it if you dont play it right.

    • Things to remember when using the sheild-
    • They can shoot through the eyehole
    • strafing leaves half your body exposed
    • a bug with strafing sometimes allows bullets to pass through
    • you cant reload holding it infront of you (obvious)
    • crouch to totally cover yourself (feet poke out when standing sometimes)
    • depending on the angle you are aiming, the top of your head may be visible to enemies
    • use it to block yourself from flashbangs
    • work in teams! your ass is very vunerable and will get shot off
    • I am a sexy beast

    Oh and there is a lot of lag in this beta, which makes it very good that they are beta testing it bewfore a final realease or the CS community would have castrated the VALVe staff

    ive got into steam, and its dled all the files it needs, i just get loads of errors when i try and play cs through it

    just tried again, went to servers, clicked on a cd 1.6 server (thinking it would dl the update for me) and it gave me this error message:

    hmmm ive only gotten that error once.



    Has anyone else gotten the error where it tells you that you have no registered children? lol
