Sounds rather good! Particularly the download of game updates/patches.

Wow, a few of those features are actually things Gabe Newell talked up when they were discussing possibilities for steam near the start. Differential updates as well as being able to download new content and play the game at the same time were two. The latter is not quite what he talked about, but close enough.

of all of these things extra bandwidth is the best. sometimes on release of a new game it can be seriously frustrating, nice to see them trying to handle the spikes better. unlock preloads at 12:00 am now please and i'll be a happy bunny. oh and bf3.

The most important thing for me is the Update (only downloading what's changed).

I've currently got a Civilization 5 update paused indefinitely because their current "hotfix" is 4GB, which, considering i don't play it often atm isn't worth it.

This is on top of the fact that the actual patch they're hotfixing was 6GB and downloaded a week previously.

This is good. Shame I'll never be able to take advantage of any of it with my shoddy download speeds. Should stop it from slowing to a crawl during summer sales and stuff though.

Sounds like a good idea especially if they can up the speeds during busy times, the recent steam sale was a nightmare when trying to download games I had just bought.

One feature I really want Valve to add is the ability for you to change the icon for each game! I don't want my non-steam games to have those ugly little shortcuts any more! D:

So from reading that, they are just implementing rsync?

Seems as if they would have done that in the past...
