yo guys i recently reformatted and installed windows back on me machine,but i found a problem where i cannot connect to steam anymore ive installed norton antivirus and internet security'05 an opend all the ports used(i wrote what ports were needed) when my machine was working fine but i keep getting a error message where it says "steam is having trouble connecting to steam servers" i retryed all ways possibe and allowed the firewall to allow access but still nothing is coming of it. im not sure wht to do.... should i need to turn somethong off or configure something?? let me kno guys.
Diable norton and see if steam works. If it does, then somthing in norton isnt configed right. Still having problems then somthing else is holding you back.
problem is if i put my firewall down i will get attacked by all the nasties on the net so i really dont wanna do that and also im running xp pro with sp1.when my rig was working fine before the reinstall i was running norton interrnet security and antivirus'03 and it was working fine. it seems like the programs is blocked but ive given it permission but it still gives me the error.
