Well, I finally got around to installing Dishonoured and it looks, quite frankly, dated. Does anyone know of any HD textures or anything? It's only the textures I dislike, the lighting and stuff is nice enough.
There was a topic on this the other week. My conclusion after playing is it's supposed to be like that, sort of a cartoony style of graphics, like TF2, I'm not sure if HD textures would really work with it. Not sure on HD Texture packs, no one mentioned it in the other thread.
People.... for some reason... just do not seem to grasp the painted art style of Dishonored. I don't know what it is but for some reason a large percentage including a close friend of mine mistake the oil-painted style graphics for bad graphics. I find it frankly odd that people don't get it. It's a good thing I'm over my steam addiction. Day 9 = boring crap.
Painted is fine. Textures that are clearly stylised but saved at 64x64 px and then tiled...less so. Of course, stylising graphics also means less work making really pin sharp and realistic textures. In Dishonoured's case, the graphics is both stylised and low res, so it looks like a photo of an oil painting taken with a 480p webcam. Thankfully, the plot and gameplay are quite good so far.
I really wish developers would stop doing this. At least once the new consoles are out, we will get better textures.

So far I've bought: The Witcher Tomb Raider collection Civ V is tempting me, but I swear last night it said it had over 40 hours remaining, now it's the same as the previous days at less than 10? :/ Edit: When you go onto the game page itself it still has 30+ hours remaining, just on the home page it doesn't, weird.

The old me would have bought games by now. The old me would have bought Star Forge today. The new me doesn't care. I am finally free. Until Oculus... and maybe I won't buy that either. Thinking about it... Oculus is the biggest potential threat to making me a gaming crack-head again. So I think I definitely shouldn't buy Oculus HD when it arrives.
Anyone got chivalry? Looks like it's got the possibility of being an awesome game with good humour value and a terrible rage inducing game. Which is it?
