I wasn't sure whether to put this in Gaming or Software, so feel free to move it I've picked the wrong one.

    Steam for Linux

What do you all make of this. Seems the Mac Steam beta is hiding (in plain sight) linux scripts and the article I've linked to even has a download URL for the linux client.

Quite an incredible turn of events if it happens, not just for UNIX-like operating systems, but for OpenGL.

    There's this too

I, for one, would love more OpenGL support, which is implied by the development/port of a Mac/Linux STEAM client and the Source engine. Would give me more control over stuff like triple buffering. :)

At the moment, using Ubuntu 10.04, the only thing keeping me tied back to windows is games. Edit - even my iPhone syncs with Rhythmbox.

    This could be awesomesauce.

Yup. Looking forward to this, just hoping now that it won't just be Valve's games on sale in the Mac/Linux Steam store.

It probably will be, though I can imagine World of Goo and Gish being on there too (as all three platforms were available for these in the humble indie bundle)
