Windows Steam....

    Steam is being all crappy and wont load for some reason, probably due to how crap it is.

    Is there any way to load cs 1.6 without going through steam cuz im gameless atm :(

    Hmmm, I thought it was my system, because I tried to run the Specialist mod in regular Half Life.

    Im pretty sure you need Steam to run CS 1.6.

    no, its not cuz its crappy. It because its taken down because they are officially releasing it now. STEAM will replace WON so they are redoing the servers and fixing a few last bugs. Also, CS 1.6 is now official.

    Lol, you know whats funny?
    Seems the steampowered.com website is down, but not the whole server. You can connect to through the remote desktop connection on winxp. Looks like valve didnt plan this one thoroughly enough....
    Oh well, im waiting for my account to be created now, but at least it updated....

    How do you have LAN parties with steam, if you need to connect to the official server?

    Answer: YOU CANT.

    It takes a while to get it up and running. That is kinda expected though with something new that every is trying to get at once.

    I just left it for an hour or two and CS is playable now. Steam aside, I think 1.6 is a bit s**t. The CS shields are a joke IMO.
