Tried asking this on Steam's forum but they are useless and don't seem to want to help. Not one reply so far. So hoping trying my luck here will be better. ;)

So basically as the title says my computer will freeze indefinitely whenever I load the server list. This can be directly from the Steam program, or in game (e.g. Team Fortress 2). I read a few suggestions such as disable JMicron ports - tried disabling various things but the result always appears to be the same.

My spec can be viewed in my sig. It's also worth noting that I have a Belkin G+MIMO Internal Wireless Card, if this could be the root of the problems. However, I have updated all the software on this so I'm not sure to be honest.

Cheers for your time as always!

Have a little read of this. Also check your standard rates. I had problems when changing router (before I flashed DD-WRT), the router could not handle the kajillion connections steam makes when it views the server list.

Wow, can't believe I didn't find that through my endless searching for a solution yesterday. Cheers mate. I've never had a problem with the router and Steam previously until my new build, but I'll give it a go anyway. + rep!

Step 3 worked a treat. Limited it to 6500 and it doesn't seem to crash anymore. I also tried 7000 but that was too high unforunately. Thanks again mate!
