This is really cool. You start of with something really scrappy looking and you make it into something really beautiful. Although this does not fall into my taste, I can really see the hard work you put into it and I really enjoy watching the case come together. Keep it up!
i know you are going to model it after the locomotive, but it is also somewhat of a shame to me to finish all of that brass in black... in any case fabulous work. love all of the details.

you can get the metal in the metal market and i buy a Φ60mm alu stick and make it into the fillport with a lathe,....you know...you can't take photo at woking time...
aha, I thought you might have lathed it but didn't see pics of it.... That's what a tripod is for... you can take pics while working on the lathe, or while you're woking in the kitchen
