    Ahoy hoy modderinos!

My case is plastered in foam pads which need removing before painting, but they leave a nice sticky tackyness all over the place. Anyone got any tips for removing it?

Pure alcohol should do the trick.

peel them off and remove as much as you can then use wd40 on a cloth / rag to remove the sticky stuff.
ask wife / Gf if she fot any Nail Polish Remover if no wd40.

If its plastic,Wd40 is the safest bet. Acetone or alcohol may corrode plastic. If its metal, wd40.

I used 99% IPA on plastics without ever having issues - Acetone totally different story :p

I tend to use a plastic scraper to remove as much from metals as I can. Heating with hair drier helps too as sometimes the sticky pulls away easier.

As others have said a good TIM cleaner. I use Isopropanol, works a treat.

TIM cleaner smells, looks and acts just like Goo-Gone which is also a lot cheaper.
Apply to the area, let it sit for 15 mins or so, wipe off with a soft cloth and minimal effort.
