in the last couple of days i did a little bit of engraving...not for this project....but its also nice....:D

on this project we also did some progress....

we add the next pieces to the front...this time we covered the optical drives so that they will be integrated in the final front....

then we cutted out the next parts which will be used to finish the lower part of the front....

then we also glued the pre cutted plexi rods together, sanded and polished both pieces ...they will later be used on the outer body of this mod

then we cut out the marked square in the upper part of the front....

inside this hole we will place a webcam which will film the inside of an plexisheet which will cover the complete hole....

This complete thing will be used as a next gen Input device....you can find more informations about it here

and i have shot a small desktop video of the first test run so that you can see it actually works....(and i really have not done the fine tuning....:D)

    ok i see....still no comments here....

but we have done some progress in the last days.....:D:thumb::dremel:

we put the lower part of the front in place and fixed it in its position with some tape....so we can see where we have to file a little bit so that everything gets smooth at the end.....

beside that we cutted out some triangles which will be used to mount the plexirod sheets on.....
than we put the next part of the opening mechanism for the second lower sidepanel in place.....

    Sidepanel mechanism is nice.

Seeing your plexi skills though, I would have thought something in that would suit it more. Just a suggestion.

    I'll watch this one

    thanks!

in the last days we spent a lot of time in planning the electrial part for the opening mechanism, but beside that we made the first LED Module for the rez....

then we cropped the small triangles on the sidepanels so that we match the shape of the front.....then we put the plexi-rod-sheet testwise in place to see if they fit ....

we also finished the raw structure of the front part .....later when everything is dry....we can sand it in the right shape....

beside that we started a new casemod....this time a lancool metal boned k7.....it gets a nice engraving.....here is the first part of it .....

Wow that is quite impressive. It reminds me of a train, sort of like a soviet train.
I hope those front fans are going to be changed so they match. Maybe a clear red (no LED) would be amazing, if you could find them, I suppose you could get some red UV fans and just not UV them up.
I really like the use of the red tubing in the res holder, with the clear acrylic it looks very nice and clean.

    hey thanks a lot guys!!

@Matticus yeah the Fans are going to be replaced later...but we are not sure if we´re going to use clear/red or just dark black ....

in the last 2 days we were busy with sanding/bondo/sanding/painting/sanding/painting the front part...so that it will be finished soon.....

beside that we put the next LED elements testwise in place to see if they are going to disturb us in any way....but they didn´t do...so they can stay....

then we screwed the first servo to the backplate to finger out how we will connect the servo to the sidepanel holding arms....

in the last days we started to build a CPU Cooler....therefore we took 3 copper plates (from old cpu coolers) which we overworked....the first plate was prepared to hold the water plugs....the second plate only gets a cutout so that it can be placed in the middle....and the 3rd plate was milled with a grid where the water should flow through.....

then we cut out some heat pipes out of an old coolermaster hyper 6 cooler which we will integrate into our cpu cooler...

beside that we spent some time on the outer parts....therefor we cutout a lot plastic parts, which we use to build the covers for the radiators and fans....

    thanks a lot!!!!!:thumb::D

yesterday we had to overwork the cover for the upper sidepanel, because it hadn´t the right measurements....so we rebuild a slim version and changed the design for the faceplates.....

then we also integrate the hole for the water reservoir
    [IMG]

and made some progress on the CPU Cooler

hopefully the cooler will be done today.....
