Windows strange cd rom drive problem, can someone help

hey guys, today i went to burn a dvd and realized that i windows is not detecting ANY of my optical drives, i have a dvd/cd reader and dvd burner and even a vitural drive that i use with alcohol 120%, heres the error message i have for all of them...

Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, same thing, any help would be great, thanks

 

Check them in the hardware profile. are they experienceing any problems?
also try reinstalling alcohol

is this the first time you've used them? if so you might want to check the cable

 

ive been using them very well for years, and the problem in the device manager is what i said above, ill try reinstalling and see what happens

 

UPDATE:

after ALOT of searching on google i found a solution, just had to delete a few registry keys and im back up thanks for the response

 

may I ask what WAS the problem? alcohol didnt like the reg?

 

I've had the same problem (along with many others), there's an MS KB article that lists the keys to be deleted. Google found it easy enough.
