Fortunately you can get the exact same case with space for a slot-load ODD as well, allowing you that most useful of things - choice :)

Personally if I was in a position of spending this sort of money I'd be looking to set up a jukebox setup with a NAS and spool DVD and BR disc images from there, in which case an ODD would be superfluous. But I can certainly see how that may not be the case everywhere.

    Oh really?

With the exception of 3 Silverstone cases they are all cheaper than this one...

Compare what is comparable. None of those cases is passive, nor use the same thickness of aluminium sheets.

The streacom FC7 evo is an non-passive itx htpc case, which costs less than 90€ vat incl and looks far better inside an hifi / homecinema setup than any lian-li or silverstone (and I'm a huge lili fan)

considering it can take up to 95w, is it fair to assume this would take an i7 Haswell?

Also.. how many disc drives can you fit in when using a micro atx board?

It can but only if you have the case in a well-ventilated area, ie not closed away in a cabinet - it needs to be out in the open. For drive numbers for ITX and m-ATX take a look at the diagram on page one.
