So would you consider an arcade stick as must have for this game?

I've played this to death on the PS3. Starting to get a bit tired of it now but it held my attention far longer than most console games to be honest.

As for the stick, I can play it well with just the controller, but with a couple of characters I am very hit and miss with their special moves. For example, most of them use the hadooken/dragon punch combo of "down, down+towards, towards" done once or twice. I can do that really easily, but some characters do away for a couple of seconds and then towards, and I find it hard to do that without accidentally hitting down or up. So a real stick would be great for that, although the analogue stick on the PS3 controller is a possibility.

Having said that, I still managed to complete the game with every character and unlock all the characters, just by using the pad, and I can play most of the characters well on the gamepad. The only other issue is that my thumb really hurts after a while :hehe:

I was just wondering as I used to play Capcom vs SNK on the PS2 to death. I just couldn't get used to using the analogue stick as it would constantly slip away from me mid move. So sticking to the d-pad I used to get severe "Playstation thumb". Been wanting an arcade stick for a long time but have never got round to it.

Guess the Madcatz GameStick never caught on then? though still wouldn't be perfect for this game.

There are apparently various sticks you could get. They may not have caught on but there are still probably some good ones. That kind of thing would be nice for other games too, like flight sims and driving games perhaps. You can probably get reviews of them online.

And yeah, "Playstation thumb" is really quite harsh :) After SF4 came out, I played it all evening and my thumb was bright red and sore and I couldn't play it for a few days.

I actually really want the game for PC because I used to play Streetfighter 2 on the PC, and the keyboard was surprisingly good. It took some getting used to but eventually I found it more accurate than anything else. I can't wait.

I like the game, but too hard with a ps3 controller, in the process of buying my own and modding it into a custom case... even on the easiest mode I had difficulty, but I'm nub so w/e :p
