Hopefully a kindly mod will move this to hardware ...

You should list the system specs and steps you took when installing it. At this stage, with the info given, it could be motherboard or CPU or something else.

Have you checked the BIOS reset jumper? With motherboards made by some manufacturers, (eg PC-Chips) the board comes shipped with the jumper in the 'reset' position. The computer does like you said until the jumper is moved to the 'normal' position.

After that, I suggest taking out / disconnecting all un-necessary upgrade cards (eg network card, sound card, hard drives / cd drives etc.) and then see if you get a picture. If yes, add parts one at a time until you find the problem.

Otherwise, may be worth looking at the motherboard and CPU. As soon as the CPU and Motherboard are ok and set up correctly, the PC should give you a 'beep code' (BIOS code) to help you identify any other problems.

The above is somewhat simplefied. Let us know which parts of the PC are tested and definitley work, and what is new / untested, the specs of the parts etc and people may be able to be more specific.

    try replacing your videocard
