    Hi All,

In the last few weeks I have spent £400 on upgrading the GPU and PSU on my system. I have another £300 maybe £400 to spend on extra upgrades which I may as well spend as it will only end up going on "romantic" nights out lol.

    System build

    Motherboard: Z77-DSH
    CPU: i5 3570k
    GPU: R9 290 Vapor-x OC
    PSU: Corsair RM750
    OS:Windows 8.1 64bit
    Case: Phantom 410
    SSD: Samsung Evo 250gb
    HDD: Seagate 2TB 7200rpm

I was thinking of changing the motherboard to a LGA1150 gigabyte gaming 1 board and putting a i7 on it but I think that might be a bit too pointless.

What do you guys think, I am running out of idea's.

Personally I don't think that you'll see any improvement in games by upgrading to a LGA1150 / i7 combination (maybe a frame or two but that's at best). In your situation I would definitely go for a SSD if you don't already have one or maybe an upgrade to your monitor / peripherals - again depending on what you currently have.

If you need hyperthreading you could pick up a 3770k

I have a Samsung evo 250gb SSD and a 2tb HDD, maybe cooling is the way to go or perhaps a 1150 i7 would I see any benefit in that?

Your CPU and board still have a few years life in them, storage is pointless unless you need more your ssd is a goodun, I'd say get a 1440 monitor, a few gooduns out ATM, wait for a deal on overclockers or something, or even buy a mechanical keyboard if you have a dome ATM and save the rest , or just save it for a future upgrade on CPU etc

I always find it best to go for the more expensive thing to last longer, so don't cheap out and get 2 cheap things instead of one epic

In that case I'd say that your rig is pretty damn good. I'd only upgrade cooling if your current setup isn't doing the business (too hot / too loud / both). I very much doubt you'd see any benefit with an i7 unless you absolutely NEED ht. What about changing your monitor? Or as harlequin said - save the money for another time?

I probably wouldn't upgrade anything 'in the box' but a peripheral or two, maybe a monitor, speakers, headphones, mouse, keyboard etc.
