I am looking for a <£100 budget gaming graphics card. I have found the ati 5670 and the nvidia 250gts I'm currently in the red camp but CPC recommend the 250 for a budget card. Any suggestions?
Have just the one for you http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-...DDR3-GPU-625MHz-800-Cores-DL-DVI-I-HDMI-D-Sub will perform the same as the 250gts but only 85 pounds this is the best thing of the new cards all the older cards have dropped in price
I forgot to add the budget card would be great if it could run on a basic 300w (though if not I will buy a new 400w one)
found one in stock from ebuyer (250) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/168911 I think you will need a new power supply http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/400W...eries-PSU-ATX-PS-2-UK-Version-3-year-warranty Not too sure if it is powerfull enough though ill need somebody else to answer that
will 512mb be Ok or should i go for the more expensive 1gb version. Also will the 4850 or 250 run on a 400w psu?
Im hoping somebody will answer the power question, Although im running a 4850 on my little brothers system with that power supply. No the 512mb on is ok the 1 gb will be a small bit more powerfull. but in my opinion not worth it especially at anything under 1680 x 1050. This one has a slight more capeable cooler but is a small bit more expensive, but if quitness isnt important save the cash http://www.ebuyer.com/product/220308
thanks for the advice I was looking at that exact PSU. How about this 250gts http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/512M...-GPU-675MHz-Shader-1836MHz-128-Cores-DVI-HDMI
that card looks great. Some bad news though i was looking into power draw for the 250gts and it looks like the 400 watt just wont do. This is a link for a 530W Be Quiet power supply http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/530W...ATX-23-Dual-Rail-12v-2x6plus2Pin5xSata4xMolex Dont be tempted to go for a power supply that has 700 watts for 15 puonds it is the worst thing you could possibally do
sorry i forgot to mention that card is a slight slower power saving card, but is still great and you probally wont see any difference
If you don't mind ebay (although i'm certainly not recommending it), for that budget you can pick up a 4890 sometimes or a decent 4870 at least...
In which case, I stick with the card I chose. I feel the 1GB VRAM will better serve you. A 400W PSU SHOULD be fine in theory but a 500+W one will give you a safety buffer.
But you run the chance of getting some sort of a card with a flashed bios, i know it happend to me lol
I would recomend a 8800 gtx tht's what i use. eventhough its old, its cheap and still plays games with decent frame rates. Depends what ur using it for.
Not a bad option I suppose... but if you've got £100 to play with I would get the best you can get. But then as Gothic says, depends what your using it for. If you're not into many games then it would be a waste and an 8800 would be a better option.
The 5750 is around £100 on scan . The 1GB is just over ... and that's the one you'll need. It is faster than the 8800/9800/250/4850 in just about anything you care to mention. Current generation, low power, etc. Can you stretch to that??
