XBox, is any one doing cool **** on one?

I just got one (an xbox) and it needs some mods (now it sticks out like a sore thumb,) so what can you do with one?

Make it glow... Make it prurty.... Make it cold.... Make it fast!!

Linux on an Xbox? Ive heard about this i suppose its a good idea, BUT u've still spent over £200 on a microsoft product ffs! Not good...

yeah, but you could get a fully functioning gateway/web server for 200quid....just buy it, chip it and then run linux on it...once it works its probablby gonna be cheaper anyway....

 

to flix-the-cat, there is a way of putting Linux on the Xcrap. It's long winded.

Solder in 64 MB of ram,
Solder in a faster processor,
Put in a window, a cc, some bloo leds
PUt leds in teh controller
Put a better HSF on the Proc
Completley remove it from the case and create another for it.
PUt it in a pc case
Decompile the bios and screw around with it until you get linux running.
Toss it out the 32 floor window and film it as it hits the ground, M$ sucks.

I don't think me buying an Xbox was a total waste of money. Microsoft is evil, but not necessarily the Xbox... It just has some.... Problems. They just need to get a couple of better games. Halo was nice, but a bit over rated. Cel Damage is my fav =). I am going to hack into it when my warranty runs out. No sense in wasting the money I spent =).

The GameCube.... Ummm... Has a few good games for it. But otherwise, it's more of a kid's console (No offense ViViD).

I sort of like the PS2, but with it's HDD comming out, you might as well just buy an Xbox, it will end up being cheaper, and better. The PS and PS2 only survived because they made millions of games at a time, and only a few were good.

The best bet, f*ck the console world and upgrade your computer a little with that extra $150-$200 you were going to spend on a crappy console! =).

The gamecube has some class games out for it Smash bros melee kicks ass! its my bros, hes 12 and hes better at it than me, i have to agree it is more of a kiddys console,

 

I hate consoles.

I won a Sega MEgadrive in 1996 and loved it. Then, i boguht a PSone in 2001, loved that, then sold it to buy a mobile

I still use my best pc (AMD k6/2 500 @ 578 - 160mb 133mhz 40gb Fujitsu HDD GeForce 2MX400) and that runs most games fine (apart from Aliens vs Predator 2 (which runs absolutly **** on it, because it uses D3D instead of OPENgl)

I might buy a Gamecube, but i sence it being exchanged for a few new comp bits after its been reviewd for my site.

Your right though, the Xbox is more of an old mans games console. The gamecube is more of a kiddies console, Nintendo dont have anr REAL games like UT or HL. Sonic is just getting old, god knows why they even botherd with that one

How is the Gamecube a kids console? Because the games have bright colors and there isn't any game that shows you ripping somebodies spleen out through their anus? Pikmin is an incredible game that people will over look because it is a kiddy game. Like the people who wont read "Maus" because of the childish look to it.

Or is it because it is purple and has a handle? Mine is black and my borther has the Panasonic Qube which is chromed.

Most people do not see video games as an adult activity.

Personally, I am a gamer. I play games.

I'd probably get an X-box because I like a few of the games on it. I refuse to get a PS2 because Sony has stated that they are more concerned with graphics over gameplay or fun. And the President that recently said customers just **** them up.

heres the age groups and games consoles i reackon go together:

1-5 - N64
5-12 - Gamecube (also 16+)
12-15 - Ps2
15 - 22 - Gamecube / Pc
22+ - X-BOX

X-Box is just a modded pc anyway. I'd love to rip out its insides, put a P4 mobo, stick the P4 chip in it, put the mobo in the xbox case, use the cd drive, the hdd and the psu from the original unit
get a AGP cable, use the TV out from your graphics card. Drill holes for the kbd, usb etc... You'd have a games console (NOT XBOX) and a pretty good computer in one

Thats my idea anyway
