Sorry, wasn't really sure where to post this, but I was just thinking of a suggestion to further improve the project logs.

What about when someone first posts a log, at the bottom there's a little option with a drop down box that says "Reserve Post Slots?" and you can select a preset amount of slots, so like 15, 20, 25, etc. to 50!!

Then, when you post, it sticks a little slot under your post (not a blank post, just a little open slot) and when you need it, you can click the edit, and enter things, or delete it. (Possibly make it so no one but the thread starter can see the blanks?).

Would keep comments and thread together, but keep it user freindly for people.

Edit: Doh, thanks for moving can't belive I didn't see the big "FEEEDBAAACCKK!!!" section.

I have an other idea. How about the author of the log makes the first post with references to the next post. I'll try to explain.

You can link to specific posts in a thread, well, if the author reserves the first post (or a part of it) for reference links (in the same thread) to the updates, then it's a lot easier to follow the mod, and "filter out" the "woot" posts.

    Just my idea

some people do that anyway, i think its a great idea :) esspecially if they put a little description of each posts contents, makes looking back through the old logs so much quicker :)

I keep a running list of links (like a table of contents) updated in the first post of my project log for all my "significant" updates. That way if someone wants an overview, or wants to skip all the comments, they just hit each link in turn, opens the post in a new window. Now all I have to do is get back to modding (it's been a long while since the last update).

Oh and I of course didn't come up with this myself, I saw it in one of Mr. Burrito Mans Project Logs and quickly copied it.
