Me and a few friends are looking at going away sometime over the summer but don't really know where we want to go. Probably looking to spend up to £500/week (excluding spending money for food, drink etc), but considering some of them are still in uni the less we spend the better. The only criteria would be that its somewhere with interesting places to go during the day, and a good nightlife. So any suggestions for us to mull over?
depends what you mean by interesting places during the day, are you gonna try and be cultural or is it just gonna be a drinking holiday?
Wouldn't want to overdo it all holiday, so excursions in the day (whether cultural or just fun) and going out and drinking in the nights would seem the best of both worlds.
kicking around doing bbq's and drinking with your mates doesn't sound like a holiday? are you some sort of art/museum geek?!
Had 3 years of bbq and beer at uni, and can do that any weekend really. If I'm going to be paying for a holiday I'd want to be somewhere/do something I can't do at home.
Amsterdam? Just got back. U can go to the anne frank museum. Heinekin brewery, Van Gogh museum..and a good nightlife as well. Seems a great choice to me considering you can get return flights for 75 quid! Ian
Las Vegas, NV. Woo! But the airfare might kill it for you. That's the reason I haven't been to your side of the pond yet.
I'm off to Paris on June 25th with my girlfriend, which will be my second time. It's a bit more expensive than most places but if you look hard enough you can definately manage 500 quid a week, nightlife is good and plenty of culture
I went to Mexico with the gf last summer for £400. Caribbean weather and beaches with Mexican beer prices. Suited me fine
Hawaii, get a last min flight and ur sorted select "plans Flexiable" and its cheaper Brilliant Beaches, Guarnteed sun, culture, night life, i went for a wedding mind u but it was brilliant little place.
personal fav of mine is Greece, lots to go see and do during the days and night life aint bad either. not too far to go either....
The Azores have been at the top of my list for quite some time. For one the idea to be so far away from any big landmass is tempting. And it looks quite beautiful. And it being a stop for all people sailing across the atlantic makes it's party potential high...
