With June almost here and most schools coming to an end, I was wondering what people were planning to do on their summer break. I'm an old guy, at least according to the age poll, with 2 kids (4 and 6) and a real job, so I haven’t taken a "real" vacation for about 10 years. I was thinking about taking the kids to the Wisconsin Dells for a week. For those that don’t know what the Dells are, it’s basically the biggest concentration of water parks, go-carts, water shows, and giant slides on the planet Tourist trap central, but fun for the kids.
Fun for the kids? Go-karts...come on mate....thats fun for you too! I plan on working the whole summer. Just bought a car and have taken out my own insurance so working all summer will just about pay for the car. I do have some tickets for a local festival, which should be a great laugh. Four days of folk, blues and 6X. I'm also being dragged on a all dayer in Weymouth with some family members, i've heard stories from the previous trips and i doubt i stand much chance of walking home at the end of it. Other than that, hopefully would have passed my driving test and i'll do a bit of driving.
I passed my driving test today so i'm planning to go on outings with my Gf to places.. like Cornwall where she has some mates etc .
another vote for working here! Need to save enough for random spending sprees on pc bits next year lol!
Working most of the summer, travelling in September as usual, should be back in the UK by October (Can't miss the start of term like I did last year!)
Take my first vacation since 1998 ! Hey and I'm a student with no real job so not haveing had a vacation for 6 years really is something. Oh yeah and there's this gil I've fallen in love with, gotta make her mine Dumb thing is, she's my exs best friend... but she likes me... I mean would she have kissed me for an hour ir she didn't like me !? Well anyways I'd just love to go to Scotland! Or the French Atlantic coast, that'd be cool aswell ! Cheers Fred
College work, work on some movies (sound, storyboards, graphics, editing), have a BBQ or two, work lots, go to Edingburgh, go to London or Brighton, work on my graf, start jogging every damn morning, play lots of CS.
our plans for the summer: work to save money for our wedding, and avoid the sun (my fiance's meds make her really sensitive to the sun :burn burn burn: ) jgrade: i had forgotten the dells. i haven't been since i was 8. i'm gonna see if i can get us up there sometime next year. have a good time!
dang, haven't been to the dells in ages. Gonna have to agree with monkey, around 8 was the last time i went. Yeah, it's a big ol tourist trap for kids but you know you like it, lol I'll prolly be spending this summer workin, just lost one of my biggest scholarship so need to have a few thou saved up by fall At some point i wanna get outta my town, maybe hit the road with some friends for a day or two, go up north and gamble away some of that tuition, maybe grab my gf and go to a few concerts, know of a few good ones heading my way.
Going to Berlin with my class tomorrow and going to New York in June. I have applied for about 20 jobs without getting any, so the rest of the time I'm free.
You're too young tbh . Me? Well I plan on looking for a job once I get my motorcycle . I'm also attending summer classes starting June 14th. And my very very good friend is getting married on June 19th so I am flying out there and I am best man. Other than that I will probably just sit in my apartment and rot... Mhmm....
Work hopefully, i need money. Although, after exams this year ive got almost 2 weeks of solid nothingness because i have to stay in manchester for the chillies concert so i plan to watch copious amounts of DVDage and go out as much as poss As for a "real" holiday, i wanna go to the far east, the US or travel around Europe after i graduate next year. But nothing this year cause all my friends are ****ing off to whereever to find wifes and see familys. Bah. Hopefully i can get a job, or at least do something this summer otherwise im screwed next year.
