I'm looking for a portable thingy to sit on the couch and design with. I would opt for the iPad with pencil but I'm looking at learning zbrush and the more I read, the more I'm thinking Surface Pro. However, I'm all up for suggestions as it's a pretty large drop for what is essentially a hobby... Battery life isn't a huge concern as it's mainly going to be used near an outlet. Processing is as Photoshop and similar is a must. If anyone has any experience in this area, please let me know... I really want to turn my hobby into a career I can leave the bank for! shame ipad pro dont have zbrush on as the pen is far superior than the surface pro 4s. tho the surface might seem to fit the bill why not spend a bit more build a itx pc for living room and get a wacom cintiq 13? better tools, better results
A couple of other option would be the Cintiq Companion and Huion All-in-One Tablets. No idea on price for the Huions but the Cintiq Companions tend to be more expensive than the equivalent Surface, but do come with the same touch tech as other Wacom tabs iirc. Don't discount the Huion graphics tablets if you decide to go that route instead of a mobile device, they seem to get decent reviews and come in much cheaper than the Wacoms.
The Lenovo Think pad tablet use to have Wacom in it but I don't believe that is the case anymore (information provided is as clear as mud so it's hard to confirm). I have the TPT 10 and tbh it's not easy to recommend on that alone unless you really needed the pen. Price was it was close to the old Surface pro 2's at the time which also used Wacom but were starting to get like gold dust at the time. TabletPCReview Fourms have a good crowd of Tablet users (surprisingly) who mostly focus on pen devices. They seem to know a lot about devices that no one hears about and have many discussions on strengths and weaknesses of each device.
