it's not like only people who own 360s participated and only people who have failed 360s took the survey. if you look at other reports the percentages are very accurate for both consoles.
It's also no news that X360 Failure rate is way above acceptable levels. MS has also been good enough to admit to that, and extend the warranty against RROD's to three years world wide. My second one (also a launch model which RROD'ed shortly after getting it, and then got repaired by me) has been running well through loooong nights of guitar hero (think 10+ hours of GH:WT wolid in one sitting), and it's handling it well.
thats 42% of people have had a failure your title is 42% of xboxes, not the same thing. the rate of xboxes that fail is probably higher as someone can have more than one xbox fail im on 75% myself with xbox failures
I not great at math but just in this thread where people are saying OPT INS are not reliable I'm seeing 40 to 50% of those posts stating they had or know of 360s that failed. From owning consoles since the 70s theres no denying the 360 is a turd compared to all other consoles before it.
its the same problem though. alot of those people had multiple failures which brings the failure rate of the xbox itself up
I'm pretty sure other surveys have given a similar failure rate, but even if it were half that it would still be terrible. The industry guidelines are something like 3% I think.
