    Hi all!

I've recently purchased a projector and have been setting up a media centre pc:

    pentium D 2.5
    MSI MS 7069 motherboard
    1Gb Geil ram
    120 Gb Sata drive.

The board uses the Realtek non HD chipset. However, theres no sound through the line out. If i set the sound to 4 channel (so the line in can be used for the rear out) sound plays through that channel. I've tried the test tones, different cables, different hi-fi.

I'm guessing the connector in the front line out has broken. So i'm looking for some software that does the same as the Realtek HD software that lets you swap what each port does. Sadly this board doesn't have the HD chip, so the normal software doesn't have that feature. Either that or a way to get the HD software to work with this chip.

    cheers!

Well if the front line out / master /headphone out socket (usually green) is broken, then 1 limited option would be to use ASIO to re route the audio channels, however not all multimedia software supports ASIO :sigh:

Would advise a new sound card tbh, can pick up a creative sound blaster fairly cheap nows, example.

EDIT, just a thought, does your sound card have a feature to route the headphone/master/front line out socket on the sound card to a socket thats embeded into a case ? Some cases have built in audio sockets which can be connected to some sound cards, may be worth checking out if its just the socket thats broken, and not the actuall audio channels.

Check the relevant onboard front panel audio jumpers have been set correctly as the manual states.

    It's similar to Delphiums suggestion.
