Well, the MCX has thinner pins meaning that there are far more than the MC, which results in more surface area which can disipate heat much better. also, i cant remember the exact term they used, but the pins a kinda spiraled which seems to help the cooling. overall, its a better heatsink.

c'mon chaps, we need to find these heatsinks. im not ordering from a us based store, i've already tried and they where gonna kill be on postage. :(

    Basically. :p:)

To be honest mate, if your mobo can take it, the Alpha PAL8045 is better value. In performance the alpha is between the two swiftechs (better than the MC, not as good as the MCX), but is cheaper than either. I'm unconvinced by the build of the swiftech though, as I've heard that the pins aren't very solidly attached to the base (to the point where some can fall out, and some can easily be pulled out). The Alpha is SOLID.

the alpha was my first choice, but as it doesn't fit my asus 27v266-e raid board without having to shave the corner off, which i was prepared to do. i decided to get the swiftech :D
