I have a funny feeling that I've purchased the wrong switches.

I've got 5 x Sub-Miniature Toggle Switches similar to these.

    They are rated as:

    2A 250Vac
    5A 125Vac
    5A 30Vdc

Will they be suitable for turning on/off fans (120mm and 80mm) along with lighting within a case?

I'm no electronics expert, so I don't know if they will be suitable or not.

    Those are plenty good.

Switches are rated for the maximum current (amps) and voltage (usually ac or dc) that they can safely handle. PC fans and lights are nowhere near that power level, so you're all set.

btw, so long as you're not dealing with very high power circuits, there's no difference between an ac or a dc rated switch.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Good to know they are suitable, as the 10amp switches are quite a bit bigger than these - I chose these for the small size.
